About us

Satoshi Maruyama is very knowledgeable of vegetables.

He opened own restaurant in 1996, after experiencing several Japanese restaurants.

From the beginning he was interested in vegetables.
He wants every customers to enjoy the tastes of each vegetables.
His signature dish “15 kinds of boiled vegetables with broth” is very popular.

He never uses MSG (chemical seasoning), food additives.
Our restaurant's priority No.1 is to use natural ingredients.

His parents are growing many kinds of vegetables for us for more than 20 years. We are enjoying to cook these vegetables.

In addition, one of his specialty "grilled eel" is also popular too.
Our eel course is including not only eel, but also plenty of vegetables. We hope you enjoy the meal.

Our restaurant serve tasting menus only.
No a la carte all day.


We advise you to book at least a day in advance.
When booking your meal with us please let us know if you have any allergies or food requirements.

We serve one set menu for one person.
Please order the same set in the one party.
However, we will arrange something for your children, please ask.

Access

Located next to Maruyama Park and Hokkaido Jingu(Shirine) where you can enjoy a walk in the beautiful park before lunch or dinner.
Toraya is 10 minutes by taxi from Sapporo station, or a 3 minutes walk from Maruyama-Koen subway station.(The orange line)

Take Tozai Line(The orange line)
and get off at Maruyama-Koen Station.
take Exit 3. Cross the road then turn right we are on the left hand side. You will see TORAYA on dark yellow wall.

Tables & Booking

We have a counter, tables, and Tatami rooms.
The counter is available for 1 to 6 persons(8persons maximum), tables are from 2 to 6 persons, the Tatami rooms are available for groups of 2 to 8 persons (10persons maximum).


If accompanied with children, we would recommend the private Tatami room.
Tatami means a mat. It is a traditional style room.
